Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity
• Help residents with mobility and safe transfers to promote independence
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care that respects residents’ routines and preferences
• Maintain accurate documentation and timely communication with nurses and families
• Ensure a safe, clean environment by following infection control and safety procedures
• Support social engagement and encouragement to enhance residents’ quality of life

Qualifications

• GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused approach
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently on per-diem assignments

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and age-related needs
• Basic clinical skills: vitals, ADL assistance, safe transfers
• Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE use
• Comfortable with documentation and clear communication
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills for resident-centered care
• Ability to follow care plans and collaborate effectively with the care team
