Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all plant operations, environmental services, maintenance and grounds for the facility
- Direct and supervise approximately 45 FTEs across multiple divisions, setting clear expectations and training plans
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs to ensure continuous operation of heat, steam, power, gas and medical gases
- Inspect equipment and systems to confirm operational standards and ensure manufacturer-recommended maintenance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies, including NFPA, OSHA, EPA and CMS
- Manage outside contractors and ensure their compliance with hospital standards and regulations
- Serve as a liaison to other departments to assess needs and develop actionable plans
- Respond to and follow up on customer and employee concerns in a timely, professional manner
- Apply engineering principles to detect, troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment or systems
- Participate in construction phasing and life safety planning to support facility projects and improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5+ years of personnel management experience
- Thorough knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation and HVAC systems
- Experience with autoclave operation, bio-waste management and life safety codes
- Familiarity with NFPA, OSHA, EPA and CMS standards and local building/fire codes
- Proven ability to apply engineering principles to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Strong leadership, communication and contractor management skills
- Candidate must be willing to relocate to a rural area
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field (preferred)

- Boilers, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and building systems
- Environmental services operations and bio-waste handling
