Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT imaging studies with attention to patient safety and image accuracy
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain exam details, and ensure comfort throughout the scan
• Operate CT equipment and adjust protocols as needed to obtain diagnostic images
• Administer IV contrast per protocol and monitor patients for reactions when required
• Work closely with radiologists and the care team to ensure timely, accurate results and communication
• Maintain equipment, document procedures in PACS/EMR, and follow radiation safety best practices

Qualifications

• Certified CT Technologist (ARRT-CT) or registry-eligible candidates encouraged to apply
• Active Radiologic Technologist license or ability to obtain Illinois state licensure
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable working 12-hour rotating shifts, including scheduled Sundays as noted
• Strong patient care skills, clear communication, and ability to work collaboratively in a busy hospital setting

Education

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
• CT certification preferred (ARRT-CT) or completion of an accredited CT program

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with CT imaging protocols and cross-sectional anatomy
• Experience with PACS and electronic medical records documentation
• Knowledge of radiation safety principles and dose optimization
• Skill in IV contrast administration and monitoring for adverse reactions
• Ability to troubleshoot basic CT equipment and escalate technical issues
• Excellent patient positioning and trauma/imaging triage skills
