Roles & Responsibilities

• Train and support all levels of EHR and ancillary clinical system users using classroom, one-on-one, remote shadowing, web conferencing, and live interactive video
• Configure and optimize clinical content in partnership with medical staff for both outpatient and inpatient settings
• Maintain and update clinical applications, including lab, radiology, medications, immunizations, and coding changes
• Triage user issues and route to appropriate subject matter experts while providing frontline resolution when possible
• Continuously evaluate clinical decision support and medical best practices and implement improvements
• Collaborate with IT staff, vendors, and cross-functional teams to align clinical processes across SEARHC clinics
• Develop training materials and documentation to improve user competency and system adoption
• Support implementations and work outside regular hours when necessary to meet project deadlines

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (Direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start date; agency staff must hold an active Alaska license)
• Minimum 5 years work experience in a medical setting (clinical experience preferred)
• Minimum 2 years experience with clinical information systems
• Minimum 1 year experience with computer technology (programming, installation, reporting, or hardware/network work)
• Basic Life Support certification required
• BSN preferred; advanced degrees may substitute for experience on a year-by-year basis
• Clinical Informatics training preferred
• Teaching or training experience preferred

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• BSN preferred; advanced degree may substitute for experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of clinical information systems and electronic health records
• Familiarity with scheduling, radiology, laboratory, and document scanning systems
• Experience or familiarity with HL7 messaging
• Solid interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and exercise good judgment
• Comfort working independently and collaboratively across multiple sites
• Ability to research, analyze, and implement medical standards of care and best practices
