Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs and promptly report any changes to the nursing team
• Assist patients with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients
• Accurately document care and observations in the patient record
• Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in the state of New Mexico (required)
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or required per facility
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
• Reliable, punctual, and able to perform physical aspects of the role such as lifting and assisting patients
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• State-approved CNA training program completion required

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic patient care and personal hygiene assistance
• Vital sign measurement and recognition of clinical changes
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic charting and documentation practices
• Infection prevention and control procedures
• Effective communication with patients, families, and clinical teams
