Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support resident mobility, transfers, and positioning with safety and dignity
• Assist with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility policies and infection-control practices
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment and promote resident independence

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
• Valid CNA license or certification in New Mexico (or eligible to obtain)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or able to obtain upon hire
• Ability to pass required background checks, drug screen, and immunization requirements
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and supporting a diverse resident population
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and current certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Basic clinical skills: taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Knowledge of infection control and standard precautions
• Ability to follow care plans and document changes clearly
• Teamwork, time management, and reliable attendance
• Basic familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn
