Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and compassion
• Take and record vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
• Provide safe, attentive patient transfers and mobility support
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and observations in resident records
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times
• Communicate effectively and kindly with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to support resident-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (Class: CNA) — active and in good standing
• Completion of state-required competency training and ability to work in New Mexico
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or ability to obtain if required
• Strong communication skills, compassion, and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completed CNA program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Practical knowledge of resident care and safe patient handling
• Familiarity with vital sign measurement and basic clinical observations
• Understanding of infection control and universal precautions
• Good documentation and time-management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and support staff
