Roles & Responsibilities

• Cover athletic events and after-school activities at the contracted high school, providing on-site medical care and injury prevention
• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage athletic injuries through histories, physical exams, and clear plans of care
• Develop and supervise injury rehabilitation and job-specific conditioning programs to help athletes and employees return safely
• Lead concussion management including assessment, symptom monitoring, and supervised return-to-play progression
• Perform musculoskeletal examinations and document treatments and evaluations accurately
• Conduct functional progress assessments, post-offer employment testing, and occupational health tasks such as desk assessments and FPNs
• Coordinate schedules for event coverage and manage weekend/holiday rotations as needed
• Act as a physician extender in the orthopedic clinic: take histories, schedule surgeries, and educate patients
• Analyze root causes of injuries and recommend prevention strategies to reduce future risk
• Communicate findings and plans clearly with athletes, parents, coaches, therapists, and physicians

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology required
• Minimum 1 year of related work experience required
• Current Athletic Trainer license in Wisconsin required
• Board of Certification (ATC) credential required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
• Intermediate to expert computer proficiency
• Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology

• Emergency care and first-response abilities
