Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality general anesthesia for a wide range of surgical cases
- Manage independent cases across ortho, labor & delivery, spine, GI, gynecology, urology, cath lab, interventional radiology, and bariatric procedures
- Collaborate with CRNAs, anesthesia techs, and the broader surgical team
- Respond promptly to call coverage and provide timely patient care during callbacks
- Document accurately in EPIC and maintain clear communication with the care team
Qualifications
- Board Certified Anesthesiologist
- Active Iowa medical license or eligibility via IMLC
- Current BLS and DEA certifications
- Clean malpractice history preferred
- Residency training in anesthesiology required
Education
- Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency program
- Board certification in anesthesiology
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical judgment for independent anesthesia practice
- Comfort managing a broad case mix in a busy community hospital
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to respond quickly to call and callback situations
