Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Nights, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, cyclic scheduling, every other weekend, 1 major and 1 minor holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to stepdown patients with heart failure, afib, respiratory distress, and stroke
Titrate critical drips like Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro with confidence
Interpret telemetry strips and respond to rhythm changes in real time
Collaborate with a dedicated charge nurse and patient care techs in a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Float to ICU as needed if you have the experience and desire to expand your skills
Fast-paced unit with daily admits and discharges - every shift brings new challenges

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa or compact state - we can help with licensing
At least 2 years of recent stepdown or telemetry experience
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required at submittal
Comfortable titrating multiple drips and reading your own tele strips
Driver's license required for verification of residence
EPIC charting experience preferred but training available

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
Proficiency in drip titration for cardioactive medications
Strong assessment skills for rapidly changing patient conditions
Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records
Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
