Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Every 3rd weekend; Shift time: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM; On call: 10-12 days per month, holiday rotation

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries
Assist surgeons during open-heart, bypass, valve replacement, and other CV procedures
Monitor patient vitals and anesthesia recovery in the operating room
Prepare the OR suite, sterilize instruments, and ensure a sterile field
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes
Document all nursing interventions and patient responses accurately

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa or compact state
Minimum 1-2 years of recent CVOR experience required
BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications from the American Heart Association
Ability to handle a fast-paced surgical environment with on-call duties

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in cardiovascular surgical instrumentation and sterile technique
Strong understanding of hemodynamic monitoring and cardiac rhythms
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and case loads
