Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered emergency nursing care with speed and compassion
• Perform rapid patient assessment and triage to prioritize care effectively
• Administer medications and interventions according to ACLS, PALS, and BLS protocols
• Use the NIHSS stroke scale for accurate neurological assessments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, efficient patient flow
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and complete required competency checklists
• Participate in skills validation, rhythm interpretation, and specialty exams
• Support a culture of safety by following infection control, immunization, and screening policies

Qualifications

• Active RN license with verification via Nursys
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• NIHSS competency
• DCI/BVP certification or equivalent specialty credential preferred
• Ability to pass a standard drug screen, fit testing, and required health screenings
• Proof of required immunizations including COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Varicella, and influenza as per facility policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and rapid patient assessment
• Triage and prioritization in a high-acuity environment
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and basic pharmacology
• Stroke assessment using NIHSS
• Pediatric emergency care principles (PALS)
• Strong clinical documentation and electronic health record skills
• Effective teamwork, clear communication, and ability to thrive under pressure
