Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor and manage progressive care (PCU/stepdown) patients with accuracy and compassion
• Administer medications, IV therapies and advanced cardiac monitoring per unit protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care
• Provide clear patient and family education to support recovery and safe transitions
• Quickly recognize clinical changes and initiate appropriate escalation or interventions
• Document care thoroughly and timely in the electronic medical record to support continuity
• Support unit throughput, admissions and discharges to keep patient flow efficient

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure as required for travel assignments)
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience (as listed in the posting)
• Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Stepdown setting preferred
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or as required by the facility
• Comfort with telemetry monitoring, complex patient assessment and intermediate critical care skills
• Ability and willingness to complete a 13-week travel assignment starting 2026-02-09

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) — program completion required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Proficiency in IV therapy, medication administration and titratable drips
• Excellent clinical assessment, prioritization and critical thinking
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced hospital environments
• Familiarity with EMR documentation and unit-based workflows
• Patient-centered approach to care and family education
