Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse med-surg population including post-surgical and medical overflow patients
• Manage care for patients undergoing total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgeries, and bariatrics
• Monitor and manage PCA pumps, TPN, and occasional heparin drips with precision
• Collaborate with a close-knit team to perform bedside shift reports and ensure seamless transitions
• Float to medical and telemetry units as needed, assisting with telemetry monitoring
• Support early ambulation and post-operative recovery to help patients get back on their feet

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Dakota or compact state (NLC)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med Surg experience preferred, but first-time travelers are welcome
• Experience with surgical patients, post-op care, and early ambulation is a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to thrive in a supportive unit culture

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in managing PCA pumps, TPN, and heparin drips
• Knowledge of colostomy care, JP drains, and hemovacs
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips and respond appropriately
• Skill in prioritizing care for 4-6 patients on days or 5-6 on nights
• Comfortable floating to medical and telemetry units
