Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to oncology and trauma PCU patients
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor for reactions
• Perform hourly rounding to ensure patient safety and comfort
• Manage ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring devices
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, social work, and dieticians
• Titrate drips such as insulin and cardizem as needed
• Float to med/surg and PCU units as required
• Uphold the highest standards of patient experience and cultural sensitivity

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska (or compact state)
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or oncology nursing experience
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
• Valid driver's license and ability to commute to facility
• Willingness to float within scope of practice
• Must pass an open-book skills exam during orientation with 90% or higher

Knowledge & Skills

• Chemotherapy administration and certification
• Advanced cardiac life support and basic life support
• Oncology patient care and symptom management
• Telemetry and PCU level monitoring
• Electronic health record proficiency (EPIC)
• Ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Use of Alaris IV pumps and other specialty equipment
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Cultural sensitivity and patient-centered approach
