Start Date: 07-22-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, day and night rotations, including weekends (based on facility needs)

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
Monitor fetal heart rates, maternal vital signs, and labor progress
Assist with deliveries, including vaginal births and cesarean sections
Administer medications and interventions as ordered
Educate patients and families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes

Qualifications

Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Louisiana
Minimum of 1-2 years of recent L&D experience preferred
Current BLS and NRP certifications
Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in obstetric nursing procedures and fetal monitoring
Knowledge of evidence-based labor and delivery practices
Excellent patient education and advocacy skills
Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations
Strong documentation and attention to detail
