Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, every third weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a 16-bed ICU
Monitor and manage ventilators, drips, and bipap equipment
Titrate vasopressors and sedation medications as needed
Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists for patient care
Float to PCU and Med-Surg units when necessary with training provided
Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC charting system

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
Previous travel experience preferred
Proficiency in EPIC charting system
Pass a medication exam during orientation (90% or higher)

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to titrate drips and manage ventilators
Excellent communication and teamwork
Adaptability to float between units
Knowledge of DKA, stroke, MI, and sepsis management
