Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in a high-volume ED
• Use Cerner electronic documentation to maintain accurate, timely patient records
• Perform and support unit procedures using equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and techs to manage patient flow and monitoring
• Coach and provide real-time feedback to colleagues to promote continuous improvement
• Deliver excellent patient experience using AIDET and respectful communication throughout visits
• Adapt to variable patient ratios (typically 4:1, up to 7:1 for behavioral holds) while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (required)
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience overall, with at least 1 year in an ER setting (must have)
• Certifications required before start: ACLS and BLS (required)
• Additional required certifications before start or within timelines: PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS; ENPC within 90 days of hire
• Comfort working in a Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center environment (preferred)
• Ability to coach, give real-time feedback, and work as part of a highly collaborative team
• Flexibility to float within all sections of the ED

Education

• Active RN license (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing best practices and triage workflows
• Proficient with Cerner electronic health record/documentation system
• Familiarity with Baxter infusion pumps and GE cardiac monitors
• Experience in high-volume ED environments (>100,000 visits) preferred
• Strong patient communication skills and patient-experience mindset (AIDET)
• Ability to manage varying patient ratios and behavioral hold situations
