Location: Hilo, Hawaii

Start Date: 08-10-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Varied shifts, 36 hours per week, rotating days and nights as needed, including weekends and holidays. No on-call requirement.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide primary nursing care to progressive care and step-down patients in a 15-bed unit
Monitor telemetry rhythms, interpret strips, and respond to changes in patient condition
Perform fingerstick blood sugar checks and manage glucose control
Administer medications using Pyxis and document in Meditech
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care
Float to other acute units (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, ER) as needed

Qualifications

Current RN license in Hawaii or ability to obtain upon offer
Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience within the last year
Progressive care and telemetry experience preferred
Current BLS/BCLS and ACLS certifications (required)
PALS and NIHSS certifications preferred
Ability to float to multiple units and adapt to different patient populations

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Proficient in telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Experience with Meditech charting and Pyxis medication system
Ability to manage BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring
Effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment
