Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care for patients presenting to the ER during night hours
• Manage swing bed patients with thoughtful, patient-centered nursing care and discharge planning
• Perform timely assessments, triage, and interventions to stabilize patients
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate patient care
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, recovery expectations, and follow-up
• Respond effectively to emergency situations and assist with procedures as needed
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and contributing to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or ability to obtain before start
• Experience in Emergency Room (ER) nursing and swing bed / post-acute care preferred
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable with 12-hour night shifts and independent decision-making overnight
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background checks and drug screening

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and triage skills in emergency settings
• Proficiency in IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Ability to care for swing bed patients with focus on rehab and discharge planning
• Clear clinical documentation and electronic medical record familiarity
• Excellent communication and teamwork during high-acuity night shifts
• Prioritization and time management in a fast-paced ER environment
