Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Support safe patient transfers and mobility assistance following facility protocols
• Provide compassionate personal care and maintain patient dignity at all times
• Document care activities and observations in the patient record clearly and promptly
• Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary teams to support care plans
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Valid state-required credentials to practice in New Mexico
• Current BLS/CPR certification (preferred or must obtain upon hire)
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with basic patient care and safe transfer techniques
• Ability to accurately take and chart vital signs
• Knowledge of infection control and patient safety principles
• Good observation skills and ability to escalate changes in patient condition
• Teamwork mindset and ability to follow care plans and directions from RNs
• Compassionate bedside manner and respect for patient dignity
