Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, bathing, dressing and toileting while preserving dignity
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
• Support infection control practices and uphold a clean, safe environment
• Communicate clearly and kindly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
• Contribute to a positive team culture and help deliver resident-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work overnight shifts and handle physical demands of bedside care
• Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and active state certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care fundamentals and safe transfer techniques
• Basic vital sign measurement and recognition of clinical changes
• Infection prevention and proper use of PPE
• Comfortable with charting and basic electronic documentation
• Time management, observation, and clear reporting to nursing staff
• Professionalism, confidentiality, and patient-focused communication
