Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate personal care to residents including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility support while following care plans and safety protocols
• Take and record vital signs, report changes in condition to nursing staff, and ensure accurate documentation
• Support feeding and mealtime needs, including assistance with special diets and adaptive equipment
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, adhering to infection control standards
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families, offering respectful communication and emotional support
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to execute resident care plans effectively

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in Connecticut (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Current TB test and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
• Background check and drug screen clearance as required by facility
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate resident-centered care and work well in a team

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA program and current state certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in basic patient care tasks and ADL support
• Comfortable with documentation and charting of resident care and observations
• Strong communication skills for interactions with residents, families, and team members
• Knowledge of infection control practices and safety protocols
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate clinical changes appropriately
• Dependable time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
