Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients, assisting with daily living activities
• Perform routine tasks such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding with dignity and respect
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and communicate effectively with nurses and interdisciplinary staff
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents and visitors
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to a positive, person-centered care culture

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) required or eligible to obtain certification
• Must meet Pennsylvania state requirements for CNAs
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and any required health screenings
• Successful completion of facility orientation and competency checks (if applicable)
• Strong compassion, patience, and communication skills when working with patients and families

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of ADLs (activities of daily living) and basic patient care procedures
• Ability to take and accurately record vital signs and observe/report clinical changes
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe lifting/body mechanics
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively on a care team
• Basic documentation and charting abilities; comfortable learning facility EMR processes
