Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and lift equipment when needed
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
• Take and record vital signs and assist with basic clinical tasks as directed
• Document care accurately and timely in resident charts to ensure continuity of care
• Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and the care team to meet resident needs and goals
• Offer emotional support and companionship to residents and their families

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (state-required certification) — required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred (facility may require upon hire)
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and any required health screenings (e.g., TB test)
• Comfortable with resident transfers and basic lifting; adherence to safe-lifting practices
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to resident-centered care
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of a state-approved CNA training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills: taking vital signs, assisting with ADLs, observing/reporting changes
• Familiarity with infection control standards and standard precautions
• Good documentation habits and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents
• Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks during shift
