Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents by assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Take and record vital signs and monitor residents for changes in condition, reporting promptly to nursing staff
• Assist with meal service and ensure residents' nutritional needs are met while respecting dietary guidelines
• Document care accurately and timely in resident records and communicate effectively with the care team
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures to protect residents and staff
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families, promoting dignity and independence

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required) — ability to work in New Mexico or obtain state authorization
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required depending on facility policy
• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Comfortable assisting with activities of daily living and using basic clinical equipment
• Strong communication skills, dependability, and a compassionate bedside manner
• Previous long-term care or rehab experience preferred but not required

Education

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• CNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic nursing care and resident assistance (ADLs)
• Vital signs measurement and documentation
• Infection prevention and standard precautions
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Accurate charting and clear team communication
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced care setting
