Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and lifting techniques
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and patient observations
• Support a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents and patients
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and the care team to ensure coordinated care

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification (required)
• Current New Mexico CNA licensure or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or obtain upon hire)
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass background checks
• Comfortable working evenings and overnight per diem shifts
• Reliable transportation to the Bear Canyon Rehab Center

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and possession of CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of basic patient care and infection control practices
• Ability to accurately take and record vital signs and patient observations
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with patients and team members
• Comfort with documentation and following care plans
• Calm, patient-centered approach to assist residents with dignity
• Teamwork mindset and willingness to support nurses and other staff
