Shift Type: Day/Evening shifts: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM (8-hour), 10-hour and 12-hour options available; call required 1-2 weeknights per week and weekend call approximately once per month.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the sterile field for cardiovascular surgeries including CABG, valve replacements, and lead extractions
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures
• Ensure proper functioning of surgical equipment and troubleshoot as needed
• Adhere to strict infection control and safety protocols in the CVOR
• Collaborate with charge nurses and OR management to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in on-call rotations to cover emergency surgical needs

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience as a Surgical Tech in a cardiovascular OR setting
• Current BLS certification required; COVID vaccine required
• Proficiency with Cerner Surginet EMR system preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of sterile technique and surgical asepsis
• Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and common procedures (CABG, valve, pacemaker)
• Familiarity with Phillips telemetry monitoring systems
• Ability to anticipate surgeon's needs and adapt quickly during surgery
• Experience with OR instrumentation and equipment maintenance
