Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, high-quality nursing care in the Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical units
• Triaging patients and responding to emergent situations with calm, clinical judgment
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document patient care thoroughly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Monitor patient status, identify changes, and escalate concerns promptly
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Participate in unit-based initiatives to improve patient outcomes and workflow

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license (must be eligible to practice in Iowa)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications such as ACLS preferred
• Comfortable and experienced working 12-hour rotating shifts in fast-paced environments
• Experience or strong interest in Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical nursing
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating schedules as required

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills for emergency and med-surg patient presentations
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Triage and acute care decision-making skills
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities
• Ability to prioritize in a dynamic clinical environment
