Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Sunday-Wednesday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Day shift, 4x10-hour block schedule; 1 weekend day required; may consider five 8-hour days to cover maternity leave)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform bedside swallow evaluations and manage dysphagia care for adult inpatients
- Conduct and assist with modified barium swallow studies (MBSS)
- Manage patients with trach/vent needs and implement Passy Muir valve protocols
- Document assessments, evaluations and discharge plans in Epic accurately and promptly
- Provide patient- and family-centered education to support recovery and safe discharge
- Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate high-quality acute care
- Use outcome measures and evaluation tools to track patient progress and plan care
- Maintain competency with specialized voice and swallow instrumentation and techniques as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of relevant Speech-Language Pathology experience (explicit in posting)
- Experience in acute care/short-term acute care and working with adult populations
- Proven skills in dysphagia management, bedside swallow evaluation, and MBSS
- Comfort managing trach/vent patients and using Passy Muir valves
- Charting experience in Epic (required)
- BLS preferred
- Willingness to work the required block schedule (Sunday–Wednesday) and one weekend day
Knowledge & Skills
- Acute care and adult patient care expertise
- Dysphagia management and bedside swallow evaluation
- Conducting Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS)
- Trach/vent management and Passy Muir valve experience
- Epic charting and accurate documentation (Assessment, Evaluation, Discharge)
- Augmentative & alternative communication methods and tools (communication boards, devices)
- Voice and resonance assessment techniques, acoustic analysis, nasoendoscopy, videostroboscopy
- Familiarity with outcome and assessment tools (NOMS, WAB, ALPS, BAE, CADL, CELF, PICA, Rossetti, etc.)
- Patient/family education and interdisciplinary collaboration
