Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients in a 25-bed critical access hospital setting
• Assess, plan, and implement respiratory treatments including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and ventilator management
• Monitor patient response and adjust therapy as needed in collaboration with physicians
• Perform diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests
• Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and home care techniques
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with clinical protocols

Qualifications

• Must hold an active Vermont Respiratory Therapist license or be willing to obtain upon acceptance
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
• Current ACLS and BLS/BCLS certifications
• Minimum 3 years of recent respiratory therapy experience
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Comfortable working in a small, community-focused hospital environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in ventilator management and airway care
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Knowledge of cardiopulmonary anatomy and physiology
• Ability to adapt to changing patient needs and emergencies
