Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (block schedule), every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage ventilators and advanced airway care including intubation and extubation to keep patients breathing comfortably and safely
- Perform arterial punctures and interpret arterial blood gases to guide respiratory interventions
- Administer respiratory medications and set up aerosol and nebulizer therapies, ensuring accurate delivery
- Provide neonatal and pediatric respiratory support—CPAP/BiPAP, high flow, and assist in high-risk deliveries when needed
- Operate and troubleshoot Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Airvo2 and Panda systems and respond to high-pressure alarms
- Coordinate patient transport and participate in interdepartmental transfers and rapid responses
- Chart accurately in Epic and collaborate with nursing, pharmacy, PT, and other teams for coordinated care
- Deliver pulmonary hygiene, suctioning, tracheostomy care, and participate in ventilator weaning protocols
Qualifications
- Active RRT credential required
- Washington State Respiratory Therapist license in hand (required)
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience; 1 year family maternity/OB experience required (including C-section exposure)
- Certifications preferred: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS
- Experience with arterial punctures and medication administration
- Comfortable charting in Epic and working 1:3 patient ratios
- Willingness to float to a sister facility (about 30 minutes) and work block night schedules
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management (weaning, SIMV, IMV, troubleshooting high pressure alarms)
- Airway management: intubation assist, extubation, suctioning (ETT/NT), tracheostomy care
- Non-invasive ventilation: CPAP, BiPAP, HFNC (High Flow Nasal Cannula)
- Arterial blood gas drawing and interpretation
- Neonatal/pediatric respiratory procedures: bubble CPAP, apnea monitoring, neonatal transports
- Experience with Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Airvo2, Panda equipment
- Medication delivery systems and nebulizer/MDI setup (albuterol, INo, inhaled Flolan, etc.)
- Pulmonary function testing and spirometry, chest physiotherapy, pulmonary hygiene
- Patient transport and emergency response readiness
- Epic charting and strong interdisciplinary communication
