Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilators and perform ventilator weaning and troubleshooting to support safe respiratory care
• Provide advanced airway management, including suctioning and tracheostomy care
• Assist with intubation and extubation procedures and participate in rapid responses
• Deliver noninvasive support such as CPAP, BiPAP and high flow nasal cannula therapy
• Monitor and titrate oxygen therapy and related respiratory devices to optimize patient outcomes
• Accurately document assessments and interventions in Epic to maintain clear communication
• Float between units and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide seamless patient care
• Support infection control and safety protocols while caring for neonatal through adult patients

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• WA license in hand required (Washington state licensure)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical RT experience (travel experience required)
• Current BLS (and other relevant certifications) preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour night blocks and floating to nearby facilities as needed
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Ability to manage patient ratios in critical access settings and adaptable to 1:3–1:5 ratios

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management, alarm troubleshooting and mechanical ventilation weaning
• Airway management skills: intubation assist, extubation, suctioning and tracheostomy care
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), CPAP, BiPAP and oxygen therapy proficiency
• Hands-on experience with bag-mask ventilation, ET tubes and sputum specimen collection
• Familiarity with adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Comfort collaborating with rapid response teams and respiratory services
• Proficient Epic documentation and electronic charting skills
