Shift Type: Block scheduling with every other weekend and one summer plus one winter holiday required, standby call required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Attend deliveries as the baby nurse and provide expert newborn care
Flex between Special Care Nursery and postpartum assignments to support moms and babies
Monitor and manage newborns requiring phototherapy, respiratory support, and treatment for hypoglycemia or sepsis
Start and maintain IVs while assisting with umbilical line placement
Transfer infants to higher levels of care when needed, ensuring seamless hand-offs
Administer and titrate drips such as D5W and TPN with precision and care

Qualifications

Active Washington RN license or compact license
NRP and BLS certifications required
Skilled in attending deliveries as the baby nurse
Experience with Bubble CPAP, Hi-Flow, and IV start/maintenance preferred
Comfortable floating between SCN Level 2 and postpartum couplet care

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment skills for newborns with respiratory distress, NOW, and sepsis
Ability to flex between SCN and postpartum assignments seamlessly
Competence with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen delivery
Clear communication during transfers to higher levels of care
