Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care for elective surgical cases, ensuring patient safety from pre-op through PACU handoff
• Deliver focused 1:1 patient care and maintain appropriate patient ratios in a busy OR environment
• Collaborate seamlessly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs to optimize workflow and outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in the Meditech EMR
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, surgical equipment, and supplies for a variety of cases including Ortho/Spine and CV
• Perform preoperative assessments and contribute to efficient patient flow and timely case starts
• Support unit policies and quality initiatives to promote a safe, patient-centered operating room
• Act as a positive team member, mentoring others and promoting teamwork in a fast-paced OR setting

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (state licensure required)
• Minimum 2 years of Hospital Acute Care or OR nursing experience (per job posting)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Perioperative experience with elective surgical procedures (Ortho/Spine, CV, General, Robotics preferred)
• Comfortable providing 1:1 patient care and working with a Meditech EMR
• Flexible, team-oriented attitude and strong communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative (OR) nursing and sterile technique expertise
• Experience with elective surgical procedures including Ortho/Spine, CV, Plastics, Robotics, Urology
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR documentation
• Strong patient assessment and perioperative monitoring skills
• Ability to work in a high-volume OR with a 1:1 patient care focus
• Familiarity with OR equipment and supply management
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and adaptability
