Registered Nurse - Neuro Tele

Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-acuity care to neuro-telemetry patients including those with CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, and brain tumors
- Titrate critical drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Interpret EKGs and respond promptly to cardiac rhythm changes
- Collaborate with a dynamic interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced Level 1 trauma environment
- Maintain accurate documentation and deliver thorough bedside handoff reports
- Float to other telemetry units and ICU overflow as needed to support hospital-wide patient care
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience
- Neuro experience highly preferred
- Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
- Ability to complete pass/fail SIMs Lab on Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong EKG interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
- Proficient with titrating Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin drips
- Comfortable caring for trached patients and managing complex neuro diagnoses
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR and WOW documentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
