Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Variable 12-hour schedules (traveler's choice): Day 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM (4x12 or 3x12) OR Night 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM (4x12 or 3x12). Typically 4 shifts/week (or 3 shifts/week if chosen); includes weekends and requires willingness to cover major winter holidays as noted.
Hours per Week: 60
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, skilled nursing care for long term care residents, focusing on dignity and quality of life
- Administer IV therapy and medications safely and document appropriately
- Perform oxygen administration and respiratory treatments as needed
- Maintain and care for peripheral lines and perform phlebotomy when required
- Chart accurately in the ECS system and keep clear, timely patient records
- Follow isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols to protect residents and staff
- Support interdisciplinary care plans and collaborate with social services for holistic patient care
- Float within scope to meet facility needs and support staffing coverage when required
Qualifications
- Active Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of LTC nursing experience (required)
- Previous travel nurse experience (required)
- First-time travel nurses not accepted for this role
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility (locals not accepted)
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required to operate facility-provided vehicle
- Willingness to work designated holiday coverage and adhere to RTO restrictions
Education
- Active Alaska RN license (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Alaska Food Worker Certification will be completed onsite during orientation
Knowledge & Skills
- Long Term Care (LTC) clinical skills and resident-focused care
- IV therapy and peripheral line care
- Oxygen administration and basic respiratory treatments (nebulizers)
- Charting in ECS and clear clinical documentation
- Isolation precautions and proper PPE use
- Phlebotomy and point-of-care glucose testing
- G-tube feedings, wound care, and use of lifts/equipment
- Ability to work with dementia, Alzheimer’s, TBI, plegic and other LTC-level diagnoses
