Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform rapid assessment and triage of emergency patients to prioritize care
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to coordinate timely patient care
• Monitor and document patient status, including neuro checks and cardiac rhythms
• Provide clear patient and family education during stressful emergency visits
• Participate in competency testing and maintain required certifications to ensure high standards

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (California) with Nursys verification
• Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS, NIHSS, DCI/BVP required
• Emergency department experience preferred; per diem or PRN ED experience a plus
• Ability to pass required health screenings and background/drug testing (listed in job file)
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies and related Prime exams/checklists as required

Education

• Active RN license in California required
• ADN accepted; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency triage and critical thinking skills
• Rhythm interpretation and basic ECG knowledge
• Medication administration and IV/line management
• Effective communication under pressure and teamwork in a fast-paced ED
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Ability to perform focused neurological assessments (NIHSS)
