Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care before, during and after electrophysiology and structural heart procedures to ensure excellent patient outcomes
• Circulate and assist during cases, including sterile tray setup, scrubbing in, and running for supplies to keep procedures efficient
• Perform pre-procedure assessments and administer pre-medication as indicated to prepare patients safely
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and support intra-procedural mapping and device therapies
• Document all pertinent procedural information clearly and accurately on appropriate data sheets
• Collaborate with Radiologic Technologists and the procedural team to maintain smooth workflow and sterility
• Deliver post-procedure care and patient education to promote recovery and understanding

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license (LARA and/or Nursys must verify active Michigan/MI license) — required
• Active American Heart Association BLS — required
• Active American Heart Association ACLS — required
• Minimum 2+ years of invasive imaging experience — required
• Electrophysiology experience preferred (structural heart, ablation, lead extraction, EP devices)
• Current skills checklist (within 1 year) and 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years — required documentation
• Comfort working with Epic EMR

Knowledge & Skills

• Pre-procedure assessment and patient education
• Pre-medication and post-procedure care
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Invasive imaging and mapping techniques
• Sterile technique, circulating and scrub assist
• Experience with structural heart procedures (including Watchman), lead extraction, ablation, pacemaker/device procedures
• Strong procedural documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary procedural teams
