Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the CVOR for open-heart and cardiac cases
Assist and collaborate with surgical teams to ensure excellent patient outcomes
Maintain sterile technique and uphold OR safety and infection-control standards
Prepare patients, equipment, and the operating room for cardiac procedures
Document care accurately and communicate handoffs clearly to the care team
Respond to Open Heart call and cover mid shifts when required to support the team
Contribute to continuous improvement and participate in professional development

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience required
Cardiac Open-Heart experience required (CVOR experience required)
BSN preferred; candidates who commit to obtaining a BSN within three years may be considered
Willingness and ability to take Open Heart call and work occasional mid shifts
Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills

Education

BSN preferred; commitment to obtain BSN within three years of hire may be acceptable

Knowledge & Skills

Deep familiarity with Operating Room workflows and CVOR-specific practices
Perioperative care for cardiac open-heart procedures
Sterile technique, patient monitoring, and intraoperative assessment
Ability to collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and tech staff
Accurate clinical documentation and effective handoff communication
