Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to PCU/Acute Care patients, keeping safety and dignity front and center
• Perform thorough patient assessments, develop and implement nursing care plans, and monitor patient progress
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in Cerner
• Collaborate closely with physicians, unit secretaries, PCTs and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate timely care
• Respond to changes in patient condition using BLS/ACLS protocols as required
• Support unit workflows by assisting with admissions, discharges and transfers while mentoring and coordinating with support staff

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible for NC licensure or compact licensure preferred)
• Minimum 2+ years clinical experience — PCU, acute care or ICU experience strongly preferred
• Current BLS required (explicitly listed)
• ACLS required (listed as advanced skill)
• Experience with Cerner electronic documentation
• Comfort working 12+ hour day shifts and adapting to facility scheduling needs

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and triage skills appropriate to PCU/Acute Care settings
• Proficiency with Cerner documentation and electronic charting workflows
• Ability to manage patient assignments consistent with stated ratios (e.g., 1:5 day, 1:6 night)
• Effective communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
