Shift Type: Primarily Day shift, Monday-Friday; must be flexible to cover mid shifts and take Open Heart on-call as required (specific start/end times vary by schedule and will be provided by employer)

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert perioperative and intraoperative patient care for cardiac open-heart procedures
Support the surgical team during CVOR cases with sterile technique and instrument management
Perform thorough preoperative and postoperative assessments and documentation
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiology, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the operating room
Mentor and support colleagues while contributing to a positive, patient-centered environment

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience required
Cardiac Open-Heart (CVOR) experience required
BSN preferred; candidates who commit to obtaining a BSN within three years of hire will be considered
Ability to work primarily day shifts with flexibility for mid shifts and Open Heart call

Education

BSN preferred; commitment to obtain BSN within three years considered with relevant experience

Knowledge & Skills

Strong perioperative and operating room nursing skills
Experience with intraoperative patient care and cardiac surgical procedures
Proficient in sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and OR workflows
Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity surgical settings
Accurate clinical documentation and attention to detail
