Shift Type: Per diem / variable shifts (rotating day and night coverage). Every other weekend and holiday rotation required; exact start/end times vary by assignment and will be scheduled with the manager.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in the CVICU, focusing on critically ill cardiac patients
• Perform continuous assessment and monitoring of hemodynamic status and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to Prime pharmacology and skills-check protocols
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and post-ICU care in a compassionate manner
• Float to related specialties or like-kind units as needed while maintaining high standards of care
• Participate in required competency testing and maintain mandatory health screenings and immunizations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (Nursys verification required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications required
• Experience in CVICU, critical care or cardiac nursing preferred
• Successful completion of Prime Basic Pharmacology, Specialty, Core Competencies, and Skills Checklist
• Required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19, TB testing, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hep B, Influenza, fit testing, drug screen)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong CVICU and critical care nursing knowledge
• Cardiac nursing expertise including familiarity with post-op cardiac patients
• Pharmacology knowledge and safe medication administration
• Ability to perform rapid clinical assessment and respond to acute changes
• Comfort with ICU monitoring, alarms, and advanced cardiac support workflows
• Team-oriented communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
