Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments using established protocols and equipment such as TrueBeam
• Position and immobilize patients accurately and perform verification/port films to ensure safe, precise treatments
• Prepare and maintain treatment documentation and electronic records in ARIA
• Collaborate with physicians, physicists, nurses and supportive care staff to optimize patient care
• Monitor patients during treatment, recognize unusual reactions and take appropriate action
• Educate patients and families about treatment procedures and side-effect management with compassion
• Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives and continuing education to advance team performance
• Assist with scheduling patients and coordinating care to ensure smooth treatment delivery

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in radiography with certification in radiation therapy (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy preferred
• Active State of Ohio Radiation Therapist license preferred upon submission
• ARRT registration in Radiation Therapy required
• Current CPR certification required
• 1-2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred
• Experience with TrueBeam and ARIA is a plus
• Strong communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate's degree in radiography with certification in radiation therapy (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy (preferred)
• Graduate of a JRCERT-approved program and ARRT-registered

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient care and compassionate bedside manner
• Treatment planning and safe treatment delivery
• Patient positioning and immobilization techniques
• Verification and port film acquisition and review
• Clinical documentation and charting in ARIA
• Operation and safety checks for radiation therapy equipment including TrueBeam
• Quality improvement, safety and infection control practices
• Effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
