Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents—assist with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes in condition to the nursing team
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper techniques to prevent falls and injury
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and observations
• Follow infection control and safety procedures to protect patients and staff
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families through respectful communication
• Assist with meal service and basic nutritional needs, ensuring dignity and comfort

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (PA preferred or eligible to transfer)
• High school diploma or GED (see Education section for details)
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or acute care preferred but not always required—enthusiasm and a caring attitude matter

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completed CNA training program with active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable with patient care tasks and ADLs (activities of daily living)
• Vital signs monitoring and recognizing changes in condition
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
• Basic documentation and charting skills; ability to follow care plans
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Time management and adaptability in a fast-paced care setting
