Location: Richmond, Virginia

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM clinic with night call 8:00 PM - 8:00 AM, plus 24-hour weekend call coverage Saturday-Sunday

Candidate Pay Rate: $2538 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Collaborate with pediatric providers to diagnose and determine surgical necessity for patients from newborns through teens
Manage and perform preoperative, operative, and postoperative care with compassion
Provide 24/7 surgical support including rounding on admitted patients and weekend consults
Respond to consults from the Pediatric Emergency Department with quick turnaround
Deliver high-quality surgical care while mentoring and supporting the care team

Qualifications

Board Certified in Pediatric Surgery
Active Virginia State Medical License
COVID Vaccination required
COI coverage of $2.6M/$7.8M if requested by facility
Experience managing pediatric surgical cases from newborns to teenagers

Knowledge & Skills

Strong diagnostic and surgical skills across pediatric age groups
Ability to triage and respond quickly to emergency consults
Excellent collaboration with multidisciplinary pediatric teams
Comfortable providing both clinic-based and call coverage
