Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services across the lifespan in both outpatient and inpatient settings
• Perform comprehensive OT assessments and develop evidence-based treatment plans
• Provide ADL training and therapeutic exercise programs tailored to individual needs
• Conduct home visits and village outreach, adapting treatment to limited-resource settings
• Collaborate with medical providers and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Maintain accurate and professional clinical documentation and medical correspondence
• Respect and integrate cultural competence into patient interactions and care planning
• Support facility needs including occasional service at the local Long Term Care facility

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (as specified)
• Licensed and in good standing as an Occupational Therapist in Alaska, or hold a good-standing OT license in another state while awaiting Alaska licensure
• Current NBCOT certification
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Comfort and ability to perform home visits and village travel
• Willingness to complete required immunizations and provide required credentialing documents (ID, SSN, license/certification, background checks, drug screen, references)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds
• Ability to treat all age ranges and diagnoses within Alaska's OT scope of practice

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Occupational therapy assessment and treatment planning
• Clinical documentation and medical correspondence
• Evidence-based practice and application of OT literature
• ADL training and use of therapeutic exercise modalities
• Experience with portable treatment equipment for village-based care
• Familiarity with modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation (hospital setting)
• Interprofessional communication and collaboration
• Cultural competence and community-centered care approaches
