Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to newborns in the nursery and NICU areas
• Perform neonatal assessments and monitor vital signs, responding quickly to changes
• Execute neonatal resuscitation and emergency interventions as needed (NRP)
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document care accurately
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Educate and support families on newborn care, discharge planning, and follow-up needs
• Maintain unit safety, infection control standards, and accurate charting

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (must be eligible to practice in Louisiana)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification - required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification - required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification - required
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and meeting a 36 hours/week schedule
• Available to start ASAP

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on knowledge of neonatal and nursery care practices
• Skilled in neonatal resuscitation and emergency response (NRP)
• Proficient with monitoring equipment and newborn assessment
• Strong documentation and clinical charting skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with families and care teams
