Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for medical-surgical patients on day shifts
• Assess and monitor patient condition, recognizing changes and escalating appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments following established protocols and policies
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update patient care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and handoff communication
• Participate in required competency exams, skills checklists, and specialty assessments
• Adhere to infection control, vaccination, and workplace health requirements

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with verification via Nursys
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications required or willing to obtain
• Completion of required screenings and vaccinations (COVID-19, TB, MMR, Varicella, Hep B, Tdap, Influenza)
• Successful completion of Prime skills and competency exams (rhythm interpretation, pharmacology, core competencies)
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred; PRN experience a plus
• Ability to pass drug screening, fit test, and physical/health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and basic ECG recognition
• Medication administration and pharmacology fundamentals
• Glucose management and diabetic care basics
• Strong core clinical competencies in med-surg care
• Patient assessment, triage, and prioritization skills
• Familiarity with electronic charting and documentation practices
