Roles & Responsibilities

Protect Parkland's data, systems, and networks by implementing cutting-edge security defenses
Research emerging threats and conduct log analysis to stay ahead of cyber risks
Support security scanning, testing, monitoring, and reporting technologies
Develop detection strategies and new defensive techniques against evolving adversaries
Perform network security scans and penetration tests to uncover vulnerabilities
Lead investigations and response efforts during security incidents
Conduct technical risk assessments and implement corrective actions
Support and maintain critical security tools including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls
Stay current with regulations like HIPAA and PCI to ensure compliance

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems required
Two years of experience in information systems security with focus on mobile device security, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and incident response
Current CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent required within six months of placement
Strong knowledge of NIST, HITRUST, PCI, and HIPAA Security Rule frameworks
Professional experience in system administration across multiple platforms
Excellent communication skills for explaining complex security issues
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Education

Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems required
